MXR Distortion III

Another effects pedal from MXR to join their range of stomp boxes is the MXR M-115 Distortion III Pedal.

Billed as a distortion pedal which delivers anything from sweet singing overdrive to massive distortion crunch, this box is versatile enough to cope with any style of playing, yet will not cloud your guitars personality.

As with all MXR pedals the MXR Distortion III is constructed within a heavy duty enclosure, with a good quality switch and jack sockets for lifetime use.

With its carefully selected components and propriety electronic design, the MXR Overdrive pedal is a quite pedal which delivers rich harmonic tones. As stated the MXR is a quite pedal that only produces much in the way of noise until the Gain is cranked right up.

MXR Distortion IIISpeaking of Gain, the range of this control produces anything from light distortion to modern Metal. However, even when maxed out, the notes still retain their clarity.

The controls comprise of Tone, Gain and Output. Nice and simple, this enables the player to easily dial the sound that they like.

So for an Amp-like distortion which is warm and round, which is not overly harsh at the high end and has a smooth EQ, then the MXR Distortion III is a modern day classic.

Features

  • True hardwire bypass
  • Low noise components
  • Large dynamic output range
  • Proprietary circuit design that delivers rich harmonics
  • Dynamic, touch-sensitive response

Emma ReezaFRATZitz II Overdrive and Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal

The Emma ReezaFRATzitz Overdrive and Distortion pedal is a Danish made Effects Pedal which is a well constructed unit having a good quality switch, and smooth feeling controls.

This is a second generation Reeza  pedal which has had low and high frequency controls added, to further enable you to fine-tune your effects

This stomp box certainly has the type of name that you have to repeat a few times, to get your head round it. However, despite its handle, the ReezaFRATzitz is an excellent quality overdrive and distortion pedal which stands out from the crowd. Offering an incredible full bodied crunch, this Pedal emulates the overdrive distortion effects of a real Tube Amp.

Emma ReezafratzzitzThe Pedal comes with five controls – Level, Low, High, Gain and Bias. On low levels, the box produces some nice plexi tones. However, for great sounding Metal, crank up that Level control and prepare to be blown away.  Low and High controls are fairly explanatory, enabling control over the treble and bass.

Probably the secret of the incredible tonal quality of the pedal is the Bias control. Emma reports that this allows the user to change or ‘morph’ between Class A and Class B biasing. The resulting harmonic change of the signal provides a wider variation of ‘tones’ found on your normal distortion.

Class A mode provides a sweet saturation found with the Vox AC30. For Class B, turn the control clockwise to achieve the thick chunky sounds of a Fender or Marshal. Altering the control over these two modes, enable the user to produce a wide variety of tonal options.

Features

  • Footswitch
  • Level controll
  • Low & high controls
  • Bias control

I have a dime crybaby from hell wah, a digitech stereo flanger, and metal master distortion pedals. I’ve looked online, and it says the proper order is wah, distortion then flanger, but how do i keep my clean tone up to best volume and using distortion also with the wah in my chain? It seems that my wah is taking away from my clean/distortion volume unless i have the wah down, but then with the wah down, it’s way too much distortion and when it’s clean it sounds off, like when I try and play clean parts from Pantera’s "This Love" or Metallica’s "Fade to Black" or "Welcome Home Sanitarium" it all just doesn’t sound the way it should, I just got the wah today in the mail, and have been waiting a while and have been looking forward to getting it, I just want to keep the same, and correct sound, that I’m used to, because I know that what I’m hearing isn’t what it should sound like. If there’s anyone who has the same effects as I do, all advice and help would be appreciated, thank you.

I have a basic electric guitar with a Boss Ds-1 distortion pedal and amp. If i wanted to make it wireless from my guitar to the pedal, what type of accessories would be necessary? It’s rare to have both obviously, but something that’s good quality and not too expensive.

I have an electric Yamaha guitar and I love to play…I just don’t have any distortion (which is, like, VITAL for playing heavy metal!) lol. So I was wondering…what are some good brands?

So, hopefully before I die, I will eventually get my electric guitar (Fender Strat to be exact) So I was wanting to experiment with some distortion foot pedals when I get it. Will that make the guitar sound sick or is it not worth my time? Just curious.

X-TRA INFO-

*Saw the foot pedals in the movie "It Might Get Loud".
Oh yah and btw, I plan on playing some rock n’ roll with this guitar I am getting. I hope to learn Cream’s "Sunshine of Your Love" for my first lick. I know, good luck..
